From a mini hospital to a leading institution
In 1978, Mrs. Rekha Murthy and Dr. H.C. Vishnumurthy started a "Mini Hospital" serving mainly the rural population in Mysore. It grew to become Gopala Gowda Shanthaveri Memorial Hospital (GGSMH), now 250-bedded.
To meet the demand for skilled nurses, GGSM School & College of Nursing was established in 1996. In 2019, the Allied Health Sciences wing was launched and has seen strong response across India.
